A gouache sketch of my Road Dawgs, Brian and Fia. Referenced from a photo of the two of them on a beach in Portland during a fantastic road trip that the three of us took together.
-
I originally painted this because the image on the left is from a meme that I found really funny, and then the Morissey on the right is sort of the equal opposite of the Garfield.
-
Painting on the left referenced from a real photo of a friend. On the right, the tab is covering calligraphic text that reads “Gay Garfield”. I painted this at Brian’s request.
-
John Mulaney reference + self-loathing hours (Not proud of it, but we all have our moments)
-
I don’t remember exactly what was going on on the left side, but I did develop that written idea later. On the right, I was doing some painting while watching The Bear. I meant to paint Sydney and Carry too, I think, but got interrupted.
-
The left side is a representation of a call Wolf had with his friends where they played video games together (in the bottom right, Eoghan is doing what he always does during these calls and running around experiencing some insane b-plot escapade). Right side is self-explanatory.
-
Painting from the observation car of an Amtrak on my way to tour the SAIC campus for the first time during admitted student’s day. I recall that, while painting this, a very shy little amish girl came up to compliment it after some encouragement from her father - it was very cute.
-
Train painting is, in fact, quite hard.
-
Views out the train window on the left, a mild crash-out on the right. I wish I could tell myself then that no one ever really knows what their doing, but also you will at some point realize that you kind of do actually know what you’re doing, you’re just too afraid to be doing what you actually want to be doing.

Cast-shadow Wolf, passing train cars
-
Sketches of Nebraska friends, I miss them terribly.
-
Memories from a valentines day party on the left (mostly), and some other shit on the right, idk. I was getting into stretching and distortion.
-
On the left, some planning for a potential mokuhanga print. On the right, exhibition planning (my prices should have been way higher, honestly)
-
Paintings of my buddy Fares on the left (miss you) and a Brian on the right + some other doodles
-
A failed and covered oil pastel drawing on the left, the doghouse on the right. I wonder what he puts in his calendar.
-
Don’t quite know what’s going on on the left, but on the right is a self-portrait of me rocking my orange jumpsuit. Painted with this florescent orange watercolor that I found in Karen’s studio.
-
Another painting with that florescent orange - this was the first time I realized that flo orange and ultramarine are a gorgeous combo. On the right, a self-portrait from a zoom meeting and some notes on grad advising decisions.
-
There’s something so emo about a bathtub painting, especially in a small bath. I think this is where I become interested in claw-foot tubs having human feet, which will appear again later.
-
Sketches for a painting about unsustainable capital growth and impending climate collapse - fun stuff!
-
Sketch of a Robert, schedule planning, some other doodles that I don’t recall but am quite intrigued by.
-
More sketches of Nebraska friends
-
Hip pain, grocery list, and some experimenting with cartooning styles
-
More cartooning. My posture remains terrible.
-
To-do list, and going Kubrick mode
-
More Nebraska friends, cartoon mode this time
-
painting of a studio-mate on the left, drawing of my beautiful Wolf on the right!
-
I think I was thinking about making comics of Wolf and I, so here I am trying to work out character designs for us
-
Character sheets for Wolf and I for a comic I never made. I do feel that we have very complimentary character designs.
-
More to-do lists. Planning for an engraving.
-
The footed bathtub returns!

Finit. TTFN!
